MESE Filter

Overview

The MESE Filter has a rate of 2.3 Hz.

Technical Documentation

  • Inputs

    • This filter will run on InIceSplit subevent streams.

    • The SplitInIcePulses pulse series, which is a split, but uncleaned, pulse series.

    • This filter will run on events with these tags in the OnlineFiltermask:

      • OnlineL2Filter_23

      • SoftwareSMT12Filt_23

  • Outputs

    • The boolean MESEFilter_24 (if the filter has passed) is saved in OfflineFilterMask

    • OfflineMESEFilter_HESE_abvL5, an I3Bool signifying if the pulse series in that frame had >6000 PE of charge and a layer veto charge < 3. This is a boolean value needed in L5 of the MESE event selection.

  • Important Modules:

    • Homogenized QTot

    • I3 Topological Splitter

    • VHE Self Veto

    • MESE specific: outer layer veto

Physics Documentation

  • Hosted by the Diffuse Working Group

  • Mese event selection depends on mesefilter_15 -> MeseFilter_24

  • Publication of results in progress Wiki: SpectralBreak_PaperOutline

  • Extending the MESE event selection to more years would be interesting

    • Event selection which combines tracks and cascades

    • Could be added to the combined fit effort
